| Triboelectric generator produces electricity by harnessing frictional forces Georgia Tech researchers have discovered yet another way to harvest small amounts of electricity from motion in the world around us – this time by capturing the electrical charge produced when two different kinds of plastic materials rub against one another. Based on flexible polymer materials, this "triboelectric" generator could provide alternating current (AC) from activities such as walking.

Watch scientists try to explain Higgs Boson While most of us were chomping down hot dogs or watching 15-second fireworks displays during the Fourth of July, a bunch of scientists in Switzerland were announcing the discovery of the Higgs Boson particle (sort of), which most lazy journalists (and TV reporters) called "The God Particle," which annoyed all of those scientists even more. What's the fuss all about? Check out these six videos courtesy of IT World (this funny intro courtesy of IT World, too).
